Canterbury Cross Country

Today the top runners from Oaklands participated in the Primary Schools Canterbury Cross Country at Halswell Quarry. All of our runners put in a maximum effort. Every field had over 100 athletes and most of our students placed around mid-field.

We had two outstanding performances. The first came from Xanthe Simpson, who placed 5th in the Year 7 Girls and Jack Mitchell who placed 16th in the Year 7 Boys. Both of these students will now race against other students from Intermediates around Canterbury. Their next event is on 24 June at the Roto Kohatu Reserve. Good luck Jack and Xanthe.
