SW Zone Cross Country

Students who finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Year 5, 6, 7 and 8 races at the recent Kauri Cross Country are eligible to represent Oaklands at the upcoming SW Zone Cross Country on Thursday 21st May at The Quarry.
Mr Hillary will be taking the squad to the event and will shortly send out permission forms for students.

SW Zone Basketball Tournament

SW Zone Basketball Tournament

Last week on the 29th May the Year ⅞ A Basketball team attended the SW Zone Basketball Tournament at Pioneer Stadium. It was the first time this tournament had been held and the students were buzzing with anticipation. They had a very successful time and were placed 2nd overall. This is means they have qualified for the Canterbury Tournament on the 26th of May. Well Done Team!!
Results:
  • Game 1 v Sacred Heart: won 12-4
  • Game 2 v Te Whanau Tahi: won 12-4
  • Game 3 v St Tereasa’s: won 12-10
  • Game 4 v Cashmere: won 17-4
  • Game 5 v OLA: lost 6-22
Outstanding player of the day was Brad Steffensen

Duathlon Training

Kia Ora athletes going to the Canterbury Duathlon at Ruapuna Park on Thursday 20th May.

We will be holding training sessions on the following days. They are not compulsory but it would be great to see you there.

Meet at School and we will bike down to Westlake Park.
